For the third year in a row, East End Group is proud to be a major supporter of Toys for Tots, the US Marine charitable giving program. This 75-year-old non-profit organization is known for bringing smiles to children who might otherwise go without toys for Christmas, Chanukah, or Kwanza. We have all shared in the joy of watching a child rip open shiny wrapping paper to unveil a special toy, perhaps one that will become a favorite for years to come. It is this mental image that moves us to drop off a toy [or several] to Toys for Tots, knowing they will do their part in ensuring it makes its way to a boy or girl in need.
Several months into the start of the pandemic, several of East End Group’s team members came together to form a car club, an outdoor activity that, by maintaining proper distancing, allowed them to gather safely. Shortly after they got underway, the participants realized their activities needed to add a charitable component. Holiday season was fast approaching, and a suggestion was made to collect toys for Toys for Tots. In that first year, bins were set up and a remarkable response was received. The toys were donated to the organization with much thanks.
By 2021, a personal introduction to the Suffolk County US Marine representative for Toys for Tots was made, deepening the relationship between the two entities. The company was asked to designate a point person and serve as the primary collection site for Suffolk County. With the support of clients and vendors alike, East End Group was able to serve in this capacity, adding collection bins to an array of new sites throughout the county. The number of toys donated for boys and girls was remarkable, highlighting the generosity of residents and businesses, all of whom were inspired by the idea of bringing a smile to the face of a young child at holiday time.
This year, East End Group is again serving as the central collection point for all giving in Suffolk County for Toys for Tots. Through its partnerships with M&T Bank, the Long Island Ducks, Finks Farms and other wonderful companies in the county, bins have been placed throughout the county (and region). CBS News interviewed East End Group about the 2022 campaign, resulting in lots of toys being delivered and new collection sites being established. We are hoping to achieve our goal and beat all of our past records for giving. There are only a few days left until Christmas. Make a difference today.
